Don't Just Wait for World Values Day
Values are like the operating system on a laptop or tablet. When things are working well I tend to forget about my laptop’s operating system or my current client’s set of Shared Values. However, we know from experience that laptops don’t always work smoothly, nor do organisations. Both can suffer from a virus attack.
In an organisation a Value that has been broken is like a virus in the system and it can create a serious problem. In an organisation an example of a virus could be one or two senior people displaying dysfunctional behaviour with serious effects on productivity, staff turnover and management time.
October 17th 2019 is the next World Values Day, where we celebrate how our values currently define and shape who we are, and perhaps where we take a step back to see if we are really holding ourselves to the highest standard.
It is critically important that all organisations have an agreed set Shared Values with agreed specimen behaviours against each value.
Don't wait for World Values Day, why not take the Values Challenge for organisations on the World Values Day website? Or talk to us today about why values are important, how you can define the right ones for your organisation, and how you can engage the support of your people to work by them every day.
